THE GROVE WINS ZONING COMMISSION ENDORSEMENT

The City of Austin’s Zoning and Platting Commission voted late Thursday night to recommend that the Austin City Council approve Planned Unit Development (PUD) zoning for The Grove at Shoal Creek as recommended by City staff with an amendment that restores 250,000 square feet for residential units to the owner’s plan in order to help address Austin’s housing shortage, mobility challenges and the need for more walkable and sustainable development as called for in the Imagine Austin Comprehensive Plan.

The Commission voted to recommend ARG Bull Creek’s proposed zoning for the 75-acre mixed-use development near 45th Street and Bull Creek Road after nearly 14 hours of public hearings and discussion over the course of two meetings.

The vote clears the way for the Austin City Council to consider the project in August.
