We had the pleasure of meeting with Jeff Speck and discussing The Grove at Shoal Creek. 

Jeff Speck is a city planner, urban designer and international advocate for smart growth and sustainable design. 

For 10 years he served as the Director of Town Planning at Duany Plater-Zyberk and Co., a pioneer and leader in New Urbanist design, before joining the National Endowment for the Arts where he led the Mayor’s Institute on City Design and launched the Governors’ Institute on Community Design to help states fight sprawl. 

Now a principal of his own firm Speck & Associates, LLC, Jeff has written or co-written several books including Sprawl and the Decline of the American DreamThe Smart Growth Manual; and most recently, Walkable City: How Downtown can Save America, One Step at a Time.
